The one thing the statistics dont provide are the Social, Political, and economical situation that are causing people to commit these crimes.
Actually, there are statistics for these! The US Census Bureau measures things such as family yearly income, population and population of density (down to the neighborhood), and jobs worked by family members. Additionally, there are thousands (if not millions) of polls conducted yearly by newspapers, magazines, and websites asking people what their political orientation is.
I don't have any of these on hand, of course. However, many of them are posted to the Internet and accessible through a quick Google search.
