Red Dead Redemption even received free DLC even when the game wasn't popular anymore.

That's the most pessimistic stuff I ever loving heard. The game literally just came out and you're acting like they won't release free updates.

Totally unheard of! Game devs would never do that!

That's the most pessimistic stuff I ever loving heard.

What the forget are you on about? I said it would be understandable if they didn't continue updating it since they've already released it at full retail price and that developing it further probably won't net any more sales than it was already going to get. I am in no way stating that I believe they're going to stop developing it.

I also said it would be great if they were still updating it because I don't rightly know if they are or not. Why would I claim something that I don't know?

Red dead redemption was also a super well received game that was made by a triple A developer with millions at their disposal. No mans sky was a low budget project by a indie developer with little money and when they released their game it did terribly. So idk what you think is going through their heads but I highly doubt it's "Let's now continue our work for free on the poorly received game that people are trying to return"

yeah i'm sure they will update but you're nuts to expect a update that makes this game valid again

With all their refunds it would make more sense for them to update the game for free to get their money back.

It wouldn't be profitable for them to not update it at this point.

red dead redemption is made by a triple A development team and i'm pretty sure still has a semi-active multiplayer

Rally already provided proof that the refund policy hasn't changed, so I doubt they're losing that much money to refunds.

And again, they already released the game at full retail price. There's no way they're going to make the game more profitable than it already is unless they released a content update that was attractive enough to boost sales by an impressive margin.

The best option profit-wise is to develop an expansion pack or move on to another project. It would be good on them to continue developing for free, but I wouldn't blame them if they didn't.

Hardcore mode and other stuff besides deathmatch were dead, 6 months after release.

uhhhh
no they weren't?
I found plenty of people who played it for long after.

you dont even have to look at pre-release footage to realize that you've been lied to about the content of the game

look at this background in your steam library.

you see that giant robot right there?
it was also in some trailers too.
it doesnt god damn exist.

see these portal frames that are in-game? they were shown in the trailers too, being used to teleport to different planets.
they dont do anything, you can't interact with them AT ALL, despite there apparently being dialogue for it being activated. meaning the entire mechanic of the portals was removed entirely.

the game's lies can be really obvious to even the average consumer, and thats why people are pissed off. because hello games went back on atleast 50% of the content they promised with their game. Its pretty god damn significant when your game's marketing is 50% misleading and lies.

Isn't that robot a sentienal walker? I've heard they exist but never bothered to get my "noteriety" high enough to see them

they dont exist, higher notoriety just causes more of the dinky titanium holders to float their asses towards you and nothing else.

The walkers do exist. If you wait for like, an entire hour (exaggeration) for detection meters to fill up, a single walker will spawn.

The wait is not worth the reward. They just give you something you can find hanging on building walls (burstfire upgrade) and a bit of titanium.
