Go look up some monoliths and start learning alien language if you actually care enough about the plot. You can't say it doesn't exist, that's not true.

backstory doesnt equate to plot

Again, I don't understand why games need plots, do you?

Did you know words like gaming, games and gameplay use to be about the gameplay and not the plot?

Why even call it gameplay if it's just a loving interactive movie.
