It isn't multiplayer and Sean Murray has even said you shouldn't expect it to be a part of your experience in the game.
BS, he wrote "Please don't go in thinking this is a multiplayer experience. The chances of you meeting another player are almost zero." (paraphrased)

That sure doesn't sound like "There is no multiplayer in the game." He's obviously implying that it exists, but isn't common. And now he won't clarify because he is capitalizing thousands of dollars off people's misconceptions of his game.

One thing I dislike is the multiplayer portion.

So multiplayer between two people is rare, you may never see 1 person.

So why not force multiplayer? Force the game to always be online, not optional.

If you get grieved, so what? The game is massive you'll probably never see them twice.

Even with the game always online, you're still not gonna see anyone.

What if you do though? So why not force it?

Because you still want players to be able to play your game even if they have stuffternet, or if your servers come down for any reason, especially when it's described as "a single-player experience".

Don't know if this has been posted here yet but https://youtu.be/A8P2CZg3sJQ

except elite sucks too

except elite sucks too
at least the base game isn't buggy or bad and looks good.

elite has space to grow and a lot more things it could do/provide, but what it currently does, it does rather well. nms doesn't seem to give that.

i'd play it a lot more if i actually had a good computer, cause the way things look in that game is just amazing. i remember coming upon a capital ship once, and just flying through and appreciating how perfect the collision mesh on the thing is. I even "landed" on the damn thing before leaving and finishing my trade run.

Yeah I might just, put this away till it gets some updates. Just sucks that their next focus is apparently base building. What am I gonna build a base for? To leave it and never come back to it? I'd love some more depth in combat. The upgrades are nice but... When I keep getting stronger and they don't, especially when I was able to kill 2/3 of them without any upgrades, there's an issue.
Would be nice to find like, sentinel infested areas or maybe even find a base full of one of the races. Raiding said areas could give the good weapon/suit/ship upgrades rather than just finding them in random unguarded things on the walls and littered about the planet.

except it doesn't though
20 hours or so tought me the best of the game is dlc, wich should be part of the original, and its a worse grindfest than nms

Yeah the graphics are great and the trading n stuff is tought out but the only thing you do is grind for credits, wich takes so loving long unless you trade wich is boring af imo
Also the flight in space takes up so mich loving time thats literally 80% of everything youre doing. Its a fun game for like an hour tops untill I realise i need a gazllionlovingbillion credits to buy whatever. Also space combat sucks because all you do is fly in circles and the AI can make insanely fast bullstuff U turns even my fer de lanve cant beat.

Exploration is fun, but not rewarding. Also the ride back takes so loving long so forget that. Elite isnt my cup of tea really.

358 hours into Elite: Dangerous. I've never done any grinding. You've been playing wrong.

A way of playing a game that you don't find fun.
