At the expensive of not being able to see critical details in the scene?

It only looks better inside of the intro cave sequence. In the open world, those washed out colours really bite the Wii U version in the arse and make the Switch pop out by comparison.

I can definitely see the improvements on the Switch version, especially if you watch the gameplay videos, the resolution is more sharp, there are less blurry edges and distances, everything feels more HD and higher quality, the framerate is way more consistent, even though the visual art style itself doesn't change, it's more on the technical side that matters.

not necessarily, it depends on cooling and battery life. It could be underclocked for those reasons.
