So you would at least support covering HRT if it works effectively as a treatment for GID? At least until more rigorous studies come out and show if love reassignment is an effective treatment?

No. I do, however support treatment such as Pimozide

born with a richard?? ur a man get over it
born with a slit?? ur a woman get over it
sheesh

I take issue with the fact you're prioritizing the pharmacology of some Youtube amateur over what's actually prescribed by doctors and researchers.

authority kinda matters when we're talking about medical research. there's a big difference in the veracity of what a medical researcher says versus some douche on youtube

Oh so you didn't watch the video. I expected you of all people to not talk out of your ass, guess I was wrong. I'm pretty sure I'm going to trust the multiple pharmaceutical studies that proved that primozide works and the American College of Pediacritians rather then John Moneys bullstuff.

I mean, if you want to link me to the studies, then we can talk about that. I'd just rather not have a discussion about medical science filtered through some Youtube channel mouthpiece for alt-right politics. Whatever commentary 'Black Pigeon' has about medical science is probably worthless since he has virtually zero expertise.

The American College of Pediacritians is a psuedo-scientific conservative group that tries to make people think it's the American Academy of Pediatrics so people will believe their bullstuff

He outright says the names of the studies in the video. Instead of poisoning the well you could actually watch the loving video and look up the studies yourself.

Got a source on this? The AMC wasn't the ones who conducted the study.

Gender dysphoria is, plain and simple, a mental illness. However, I don't think you need to hop someone up on hormones or some other drug to block their thoughts, a person like that just needs help. I'm sure everyone has though about it, "Man I wonder what it would be like to be a girl/boy!", but thoughts like that can be dangerous to have when you grow up in a culture that reinforces things like that to the point when they become more than thoughts and then that person is stuck with that decision for the rest of their life and, usually end up depressed or suicidal. As a culture we need to focus on helping these people instead of giving them the gratification of changing their gender simply because they think that's what they want before they are even mature enough to know what's in their best interest. If someone decides to transition after they're 25, then fine, go ahead but, I feel we should seek to help those who want to transition at any age before that instead of just granting them whatever they ask for. The only issue is, we can't force anyone to do anything unless we pass laws but I think that's going a bit too far.

i hate when people just loving link to a fallacy explanation like "ur argument is a forgetin fallacy so ur wrong nerd" like forget off
https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/the-fallacy-fallacy
this is the only approriate usage of the link de fallacy because the only way to respond to an invalid argument is something explaining their invalid argument

Lol, good catch.

This organization was literally founded just to try and prevent gay people from adopting children. GG beachbum.

I found his references. Black Pigeon bases his entire conclusion, that pimozide should be used to treat transgender people, based on this single paper:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8839957

This case study involves one patient, who, according to these researchers, presented 'cross-dressing and a desire for a love change operation' (no actual formal diagnosis of GID), and then improved after taking pimozide (with no follow-up after the study completed).

This is literally about as stuffty as a case study can get before no journal will pick it up. For starters, with a sample size of one, you can't draw any conclusions about whether pimozide did anything because there is no control group. Second of all, even if you had a control group, you basically wouldn't be able to tell whether your results mean anything because your sample size is too small to draw conclusions from.

In other words, Black Pigeon knows literally nothing about how to brown townyze the quality of scientific literature. Why? Because he has no expertise and he's just some douche youtuber that makes political videos. There's your appeal to authority fallacy.

I knew there was some sort of red flags going up.

ok first of all limiting transition to people 25 and older would probably result in more transgender people going into a depressive state and commiting Self Delete
the thoughts for transgender people aren't just "hey what if i was a girl/boy!" it's more like "this is not the right body and i have a strong desire and need to be a girl/boy!"
to legally acquire hormones/blockers in the united states you need to be over 18 or have parental permission and have them prescribed to you by a gender therapist or an endocrinologist
if you ever want to actually get the surgery you usually have to have a recommendation from a therapist and like 2 years fronting as the gender you want to become
you can't just be "granted" or given the things you need to transition. it's a very long and lengthy process of actually acquiring the resources to transition + a forgetton of money because this stuff is expensive
and again, transgenderism isn't just a bunch of thoughts that are suppressed by hormones
