"I agree.  Whatever we did to upset the gods, I would sacrifice a thousand goats for it."

"Let's get to the beach as soon as we can."

Sorry, my bad!

All good, my dude.

There are several large stones that if unearthed, could damage the beast.  There is a boulder nearby that would be able to roll down and strike the beast, but he doesn't know if his strength will allow him to accomplish this task.

Gus temporarily seeks cover so as not to be seen, but then realizes that the beast, if like most, wouldn't have made the mistake of going over the edge of that ledge.  Perhaps it can be outwitted.

Gus stares down at the creature for a moment, furrowing his brows as he moves to rush back over and begin disrupting the ground under it to weaken it before he'd begin clacking his axe against his shield and call out at the top of lungs.

Is it the smartest thing to do? No, but adrenaline is rushing through his veins and Gus has a burning desire to win the longer he sticks in this struggle.

"Come on! I'll kill you and raise your head to the heavens, beast! Come at me!"

Should the beast fall into his trap, he'd try to roll the rock onto it. Alternatively, if he can weaken the ground in time, he'd try to roll it down onto the best just as it's coming over the ledge.

The Ünthur begins to trot slowly up the hill, limping.  It then falls over on its side and slides down the hill slightly as its rear right leg gives underneath it either due to pain, sprain or fracture.

The Ünthur sees Gus yelling at it and he proceeds to struggle its way up the hill with more determination, as it blows out a plume of smoke and steam from it nostrils.  Just then, Gus manage to dislodge the boulder, which then rolls downhill toward the Ünthur and strikes it right on the back as it bounces up from the hill.  The creature contorts as the large stone strikes its spine and quite clearly breaks it. The Ünthur collapses, rolling down the hill back into the stream bed.

An unfamiliar creature eyes Baumsen from the darkness.

« Baumsen has discovered the Lacithan »

Gus smiles as his plan had worked- it's a smile mixed with relief and pleasure from seeing such a great opponent being defeated, even if a beast. Gus begins to hobble down, having forgotten for the moment of his own injured leg as he heads down to investigate the downed creature. He keeps a good distance and tries to avoid coming at it from the front- favoring the creatures side.

Should he be able to get close enough without much resistance from the creature, he'd begin to go to work with beating against its head with his axe. Just to make sure, with all things considered.

As Gus approaches, the beast tries to blow one last flame at him, but misses, setting the nearby grass ablaze.  The creature falls unconscious after this last-ditch protest, where then Gus clubs the living stuff out of its temples to kill it.  The body then begins to steam and burn up.

Gus looks back and down towards seeing the body beginning to burn itself, his eyes widening as he moves to scramble the hell away in fear of it bursting into flame and taking him with it. He'd stay nearby enough to watch and see if it explodes into fire or not, and whether he can go down to try and break off its  horns.

The Ünthur continues to burn slowly.  It seems like the the creature by nature gives itself it's own funeral pyre.  After about an hour, the Ünthur is completely burned.  Seems like the horns could be removed, but one is cracked from the fire.  The left horn is intact.

In the midst of the burnt-out skeleton of the animal, he finds a large stone, lying on the ground.  Its surface is black on the outside, with speckles of white.

Anni continues with Volgya toward the sea, and reaches it just as the sky shifts to twilight blue.

Volgya*

probably gonna have to take another LOA or even quit tbh.  school is taking up 90% of my time at this point and i have barely any time to myself.  sorry.

Gus furrows his brows, slowly beginning to scale down and over towards the skeleton after it finishes burning itself out. When Gus makes his way down and over towards the animals corpse, he'd kneel down to hover his hand over it to gauge how hot it was. Depending on its heat, he'd either leave it for now or he would stash it to carry back to his camp. Looking over towards the animals horns, Gus would move to break off some bones from the beast as well as both of the creatures horns, to bundle them up and carry them back over to his camp.

"I'm awesome." is all he says to himself.

I'll place you on stasis.  Come back whenever.

The stone is still hot from the fire.  He does manage to remove the intact horn and some bone, but the cracked horn falls apart.

Anni settles down in the forest on the north side of the river, a good 50 meters or so from the banks far enough from where she perceives the flooding zone to be, and a good 400 meters from the beach, far enough that she believes no storm  surge could reach.  She gathers together the supplies and makes an inventory check.  Once everything is accounted for, she settles down and lights a fire using the bow drill using sticks from the surrounding area.  Over the next few hours, she works on gathering supplies from the surrounding area to make a primitive and temporary shelter for herself and Volgya—a simple palm frond hut, using 8 vertical poles and a number of rings.  She then digs a miniature moat around the hut and a small drainage cbrown town to lead downhill.  After several hours, the sun has risen, Anni is exhausted, and she lies down for a deep sleep in the hut, axe by her side.

Gus leaves the stone where it is, for now. Gus furrows his brows as the cracked horn falls apart before he simply makes his way back over towards his camp to settle down and get some well deserved rest.

The fourth ship strikes the southern shores of the main island!

Thædryd Ölnsyar is stranded ashore.

The following is salvaged from among the wreckage:  A long, durable length of rope, a hooked cleaver (not rusted, though), a ram's battle horn, an empty wineskin, and some scraps of damp wood.

Thædryd pulls his head out of the sand after landing spectacularly. With a quick look to his sides, he quickly surveys his environment, a beach.(thanks captain obvious) He stands himself and stretches, noticing the cleaver halfway submerged in the sand just a few feet from him, he reaches down and pulls it from the sand. Examining it closely, taking note of the curved back-end before turning his attention elsewhere.

He pulls the rope from the sand and coils it before setting it over his shoulder, meanwhile he chooses to take the wineskin in his left hand, as water will be more important right now.

Once equipped with what he can carry, he takes a moment to determine direction via positioning of the sun. Once figured out, he makes due west along the beach with intention to find a river for fresh water.

Gus yawns, stretching as he awakes back in his camp and he slowly blinks, first to make sure nothing is disturbing anything. Rising, he first looks to check his leg on how it's healing up before he'd begin to make the trek down towards the skeleton of the beast to check in on the stone and if it's still there.
