Honestly, I think it's even more ridiculous that Playtonic had to announce the removal loudly. Because that wasn't worth the stuffstorm they caused themselves anyway. (no pun intended)
Yeah this. There's probably several companies that replaced people for even stufftier reasons. They just played it smart. Give them a contract stating they can't say stuff when you hire them, don't use them to generate hype, don't announce anything if you get rid of them.
