The waiter returns with 2 shots of rum, an ice water, and a spray bottle with window cleaner in it.

The waiter places each item on the table and then leaves to serve another table.

Norum takes one of the shots and holds it, pushing the other one toward Amanda, raising his own in the air.

Jae waves the waiter, asking for a sake or soju. If unavailable, beer.

"Thank you... but given the state of things, I am unable to consume beverages." Amanda says to Norums gesture.

Jae waves the waiter, asking for a sake or soju. If unavailable, beer.

The waiter acknowledges your request and heads back over to the bar.

A song comes on in the background.

"Here's the plan. I forgot to detail this before we got here, sorry about that. The next bar is in Midtown, south of here, its a full bar with all sorts of things, called Nyugen's Lounge, we'll get a lounge room there. Next there's a place called the Goal Line. It's a sports bar, and the Aurum Executives are taking the pitch against New Zealand, so it'll be packed. If that's not your kind of place then there's a bar next door called Ruan's to hold you over. After that, there's a club in Midtown on the border with Salus and Saint Carmichael called The Rager. I don't expect many of you will tag along for that one. It's pretty much a dive for lot of dad's money and starfishs living off their parent's trust funds. That's not to say it isn't upscale, but when you're living in Carmichael and Salus the place isn't stuff but for going there because you live at home on dad's money. I assume that a lot of you aren't interested in raving with a bunch of forgets, so I don't expect you'll stick around. Norum and I will be there though,"

She takes a breath.

"I'll send you everything over your phones in a bit. You can leave us when you want, but I at least would like to talk with you all at the Lounge. Questions?"

The waiter returns with a glass and bottle of soju for Jae.

"No, none."

He pours the colorless drink into the glass, taking a sip. He twitches as the alcohol washes down his altered throat.

Norum shrugs and throws back the first shot, clearing his throat as the last of it goes down.  He holds up the second, "Any takers?"

Ryde shakes his head whilst pursing his lips. "I got nothin'."

Norum looks around, "Alright then."

He then throws that one back, too.

With a snap, the cap to Zhang's pen fastens itself in place as she finishes writing everything down. She drops the notepad into an internal pocket in her coat. With one eyebrow roostered, she looks at Elena, gesturing vaguely with one hand. "So why are we doing this again?"

Daniel sort of absent-mindedly stairs at the table with his arms crossed, listening in on everyone while he chews on his tongue.  "No questions," he mumbled quietly.

"If we're interested in getting the guy that shorted us all, getting acquainted would be appropriate. You don't have to work with me and Norum if you don't want to. It'll be something of a business venture. Norum and I are both augmented, and both by the same doctor. To my understanding you lot have augments as well. Norum and I have been looking for the guy for a while, because in my case I was conned and taken for a fool. My augment is defective and the surgery was a hack job. I payed every last dollar I had. So whether you want to take- exaction, or find enough money to fix your problems or live comfortably for a while, what ever your reason for being here. I'm looking for people with similar goals, perhaps, for such a business opportunity," Elena says, giving the pitch with noticeable euphemism.

She covers her right hand with her left, and places both on her hip.

"We'll finish this round and move along to the next bar, if that sounds alright,"

Ryde looks to his right arm, which looks sickly grey from the augmentation that he had gotten. He then looks around the bar for anything suspicious.

Jae takes a final swig from the cup of soju, emptying it.

"Yeah, ready when you are."

"That's a great speech," Zhang grumbles, gesturing with her pen at Elena, "but you've told me nothing that I don't already know. A better question that I should have asked is 'what are you doing' - because as far as I can see-"
Zhang takes a brief moment to tilt her pen around to gesture to Jay, Ryde, and finally herself. "-we just got roped into working for some crime-boss," she continues, spinning the pen around her fingers to point at Elena. "And as I recall, it was your intelligence which led us into that house. The house that didn't have the target. I can't speak for everybody else but that sounds like one hell of a set-up."

Elena becomes visibly embarrassed.

"That was good intelligence, someone had to have gotten him out of there. Norum and I have been chasing this guy for over a year. We've gotten leads on him before, and we've found where he'd been working twice before, this last time would be our third, and it was the closest we'd ever gotten. It was the first time we encountered thugs protecting him. Xang shot his loving mouth off about how 'the surgeon' screwed him when he had me in his office pressing me to tell him why we forgeted up one of his properties and shot the stuff out of his men," she replies.
