Author Topic: Bethesda literally makes a paid mod for skyrim  (Read 2368 times)

it actually costs $15 if you consider the fact that the 800 credits required can't be reached with the $8 750 cc pack, and can only be paid for through the 1500 cc pack which costs $15

i hate that we're automatically using the words "paid mod" as an assumedly bad label, but on the scale of Bad to Good this is a pretty solid "Pretty Bad"

the best way to look at this is that they're releasing survival mode as an $8 DLC, because creation club works are developed in-house with help from choice community members iirc. considering there are mods that already achieve this tho obvs it probably wasn't a great idea lol

paid mods are automatically terrible unless they add a load of content (dlc for example)

durr gmod should be free
gmod isnt an example
garry's mod is so huge of a modification to the point where it's independant and moddable by itself. it's not a mod.
hell, the only things you buy it with are stock assets for the source engine. it's been moddable since 2008~ and the mod was made in 2004, and made independant in 2012.
wanna see an actual paid mod? http://store.steampowered.com/app/399120/Prospekt/

sure now it's a bit more substantial but back in the day it was practically HL2 with a spawn menu, the physics gun, and a few tools for doing things that were already in the engine

nobody is buying it because it's garbage. it's a problem that solves itself. if you don't like that paid mod you don't have to pay for it.

lmao they're probably gonna pull a rockstar and try to C&D the mod maker for skyrim, just because people already make mods like this.

the mod tools that they made

epic self-ownage

Now that's just scummy.

you're literally paying $8 to make the game slightly more difficult

I don't think paid mods are that bad of an idea but calling the creation club a disaster would be an understatement
