Author Topic: What's the most you would buy a game for?  (Read 3803 times)

100$ cause I rarely buy games to begin with

$60 if it's a game I really want

40

the most expensive game i ever bought was 25 dollars and it was on sale

I'm a bit surprised by how cheap everybody else is
For a game to be the replacement of all other games, I expected people to be willing to pay a lot for it

i wouldnt mind droppin a full 60 bucks for a game that i really want

everyone's interpreting the question differently

I think most people are taking it as "a game you're really excited for"

Most of the people posting are young, with a very limited supply of cash, and some of them are dirty Indie/Sales-only gamers who aren't aware the costs of development.

The thing is.

Even if it were the most perfect game in the world. And would blow all my expectations off the planet. I wouldn't know it until after I paid for it.
And judging it based on what other people say. Well. I don't need to explain that.

So, whether or not it's the perfect game that I would enjoy the most or not. I don't feel comfortable paying more than 60. And even then, I'm usually waiting for a sale.

I'm fully aware of the costs. I have money. But triple A after triple A, I keep running into very short lived mediocre games. Not to say most indie games are 'super long and super fun', but at least the time I spend on them is more worth the money. For example, Terraria and Valdis Story. I would've paid double for those. So I usually try to do something else to give back to those games. Like buying soundtracks, trying to get others to buy it, etc.
I'll probably pay the full $80-90 price tag for Left Alive though. Because I'm hyped for that.

Unless it is some combo with multiple discs and a statue or something, no more than $30

This too

I'd pay well over $100 for a Sonic Mania sequel except this time without the shoehorned old zones or Forces tie-in rock thing.
Sonic Team sucks and it hurts me to see them force their own rules and stuff into Taxman and Stealth's awesome stuff.

Although if I did pay that much it had better be some kind of special edition that comes with some merch or some stuff.
