Author Topic: [NEWS] Yet again the FCC is threatening net neutrality (PETITION)  (Read 30703 times)

Also I'd like to point out that the petition now has over 100k signatures.
During the Obama administration every single petition that received 100k signatures got a recorded, public response from the president, even if that response was dismissive. That's what the site was created for, to make sure that the people were heard.

Do we think that the Annoying Orange administration will follow this pattern of transparency and openness?
fyuck Annoying Orange

that's the point
it's the opposite of a utopia

There's a word for that

why is conservatives in air quotes
did this bitch just say "air quotes" about text
where would something like the BLFs or other smaller/lower profile websites fall under? would they even be affected lol.
I suspect the default is throttled, and any websites or services that aren't specifically included in some package are just eternally going to be slow

i suspect the default is going to be around where it is now, maybe a bit slower. i think their primary focus is going to be slowing down 1. competitors, 2. sites that users haven't paid extra for, and 3. VPNs

Well sure, but I expect we'll get this sort of response:

sorry i read sentences as if someone is saying them

why would you assume that
the average internet user sticks to the big websites that would be in such packages. there is literally no reason, from an ISP's perspective, to not limit other websites. it gives them a chance to upsell. maybe they'd even come up with custom single-site packages you can add if you wanna use some random website that's not included in their existing groups

add in five extra sites, totally FREE!

Oh stuff America will finally be on Australias level when it comes to internet.

I can definitely see them imposing categorisation packages at least. Like those stuffty website filters that all of us (probably) had to endure at school

Is it like that in Australia? You guys don't technically have Net Neutrality after all. Or is there some other law stopping ISPs from doing so?
