Eetu responds without hesitation "Absolutely, you may stay here."

Eetu finds a pair of shoes that, aside from being soaked, are mostly new, and they make a fine fit.  When he gets back from retrieving a pair of shoes, Eetu sips the last of his strange leaf water and stands up, leaving his cup at the table and clearing his throat. "Well then, let's take a look at that map." He motions Theric follow him to the study once more.

Adina exits a doorway and glares at Theric as she crosses a hallway and enters another door.

Douzheng is brought to Zaluk's table, a better-kept and more ornate piece of furniture. The wear on it's surface indicates that it had seen years and decades of use. Zven arrives and speaks something in his ear, to which Zaluk nods. "They will be serving salted daliba today. Is that okay?"

Adina exits a doorway and glares at Theric as she crosses a hallway and enters another door.

There's a glance at Eetu's cup, Theric's brows furrowed for a second or two. After a second of doing that Theric follows Eetu along, staying in his own fairly ruined ones for now after having made his way back- choosing to instead let them dry out for him to wear in the morning. He takes a look at the leaf, though his expectations of recognizing it are fairly low.

Theric catches Adina's glare. Staring back at her for a moment, Theric tilts his head before he gives her an apologetic look before he wordlessly carries on as she walks away.

Theric doesn't recognize Eetu's herb roostertail at all.

Eetu takes him upstairs and unfurls an old sheepskin on the table, revealing a map of the island.

Eetu takes him upstairs and unfurls an old sheepskin on the table, revealing a map of the island.

Peering down at the map, Theric's eyes scan back and forth as he takes it in. Humming to himself, he looks up to Eetu and asks, "What can you tell me about each of these places? Are there smaller settlements inbetween, and are there any paths that make it quick to travel between these places that are shown?'

"Well, first of all, this map is over 30 years old, so some roads may no longer be in use, but I can tell you where some roads do go, from where, and about each area."

Eetu clears his throat and places a finger on the territory marked Bogudani, "I figure you would be best to know the dangers of this island—You've no doubt heard of these... animals... The Bogudani are a semi-nomadic people that worship a demon of this island, Ayyuxta. I caution you..." He lifts his hand from the map, gesturing to Theric. "Stay away at all costs. They have cast aside their humanity and will seek out any of the chosen, or any of their choosing, to take part in a 'Ceremony of Glory', which really means they will drag you down to Vextiwa, run you through with 13 spears, drain you of your blood, wait for Ayyuxta to claim your soul, and then consume the flesh left behind." His serious eyes fade to grim. "Please, do not do to the dark lands—the lands they inhabit. You will not find mercy there."

He takes a moment to catch his breath. "Next, the Virani." He points to the Virani settlement on the map, "They are perhaps the most saintly of the peoples on this island. They worship Mirisham, the god of this island. While they will surely be hospitable and kind, it be best to not let the Bogudani find out, for you will become their chosen. While they are certainly a willing friend, we dare not be their ally, else we would invoke the wrath of the Bogudani."

He places his finger on the settlement marked Nilkami, "The Nilkami are industrious and hard-working. The ongoing wars between their northern neighbors have seen collateral, thus, they have toughened their armies, built walls, and are steadfast in preventing war from spreading southward."

"Then, finally, the Khalimi. They are a war-thirsty breed who do not much like outsiders. They will happily kill any savage from their north, but the enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend. They don't seem to like the other peoples much at all, so I can only wish you good luck should you have to deal with them."

"Do you have any other questions?"

"Are you alright, boy?" Zaluk says to Douzheng.

"Are you alright, boy?" Zaluk says to Douzheng.

Douzheng snaps out of it, and apologises. He explains that he gets lost in thought every now and again. He then realizes the context and nods in a start: "Oh! Yes, Daliba would be excellent."

"Good."

A servant sets a plate of grilled fish, roasted potatoes and herbs in front of Zaluk and Douzheng seconds later. Another servant places a goblet in front of each of them.

With no more questions, Theric heads off to bed in the same place as the night before.

Yana sets the two pots she was working on aside. "Set yours aside so they may dry, Aif."
