Actual New Year's 2018 --- 117 players

Im definitely going to be more involved with the blockland community come 2018 so hopefully there will be one server next year so I dont feel like I have to choose who to help.

Honestly, until someone discloses what actually happened: You being booted off the team out of the blue is pretty weird and pathetic from an outside perspective.
It's a tad more than that, to be fair.

Basically in September last year they approached asking for my key. I said I didn't want to give it to them but said I'd be happy to host for them.
They let me into the Clique and over the next few months I ended up handling all of the scripts and scheduling all of the events. I then made a discord (since the Clique's was private) for everyone to chat on and made myself host with momentum as my admin.
This resulted in a feeling that I had "taken over" the server. Not to mention I was only added to the clique to host for them, so when the event was over they must have figured they didn't need me any more and booted me out.
Me and Momentum also added some (somewhat offensive) running gags from previous years, which really struck a nerve with them. I think there's a lot of people out there who still to this day think our New Year's was the "national socialist" one. We took most of that stuff of for this year though.

its almost as if all clique members are impotent children who feed off attention from others who idolize them

Oh well. It is what it is I guess. I might not even be able to make it to any server cuz my laptop sucks

I have somewhat of an outside perspective of this because I wasn't too involved in any of this, so take this with a grain of salt. It wasn't necessarily out of the blue, it was a fair amount of things leading up to a cumulative action. Nobody involved in making the decision to kick them out wanted to bring up dirt or be petty about it, so I guess they all just stayed silent.

From what I can tell, the reason the kicking had happened is because a fair amount of the team did not want to work with DrenDran or Momentum for unspecific reasons (As far as I know). DrenDran isn't that bad of a person, I think he's cool, but from personal experience talking to Momentum, at least some of the development of this server was aimed as a sleight towards the party working on the other new years server. I do know a few of the buildings on this server were named in the likeness of clique members, and I don't understand what the intentions were there.

I don't know what your problem is but you help literally nothing, irony or not. All this does is make it look like this server is meant as an insult towards the clique, which it isn't. It's really disingenuous to the work Dren and Momentum put into this.

I think he meant that toward the others, not Dren and Momentum

"all" is a very broad term, i shouldn't have been generalizing the ENTIRE clique because that's wrong

That really wasn't my point at all. I don't think it's fair for the people that worked on this to have their work be subverted into an attack on the other server. There's no point in trying to stir up drama because this is all literally just for fun.

I mean yeah, I suppose that's the case. I can understand that there's really no perfect way of addressing what happened without bringing up loads of drama, however, it is leaving a lot of people either frustrated or extremely confused. Having 2 big New Years servers on blockland isn't really the tradition so we gotta make sense of it somehow.

Believe me, after months of effort, the idea of trying to compete to get the most players kind of turned a lot of people away from developing any further for a bit there. As far as I know, nobody on the clique's team wanted to compete at all and probably still don't.

I dunno why anyone on this team continued to develop further, because I honestly do not believe anything good will come from competing parties. It was stated in the other topic that nobody in that team plans on doing new year's 2019.

I do agree with you here.
I'm not telling anyone to insult the Clique. (Though I may tell them to bump my thread or defend me.)
At the end of the day I hosted this because I liked the feeling of hosting New Years, I'm competitive, but I'd obviously still be hosting even it was just us.

I left the building to Momentum because he's good at it, and Momentum kinda just does what he does. I don't think he meant too much harm by it, he just thought it'd be funny.

I do know that if you had posted your topic earlier we probably wouldn't have made ours. I believe initially we wanted to go through with the party reluctantly because everyone believed nobody wanted to put in the effort to make a party for 2018 and it would be stuffty to just not continue the tradition with everyone's expectations so high.

Regardless, a lot of effort was put into both builds and good luck to both servers, may the best party win!

If anybody does New Years next year I just hope it will only be once server.

wow what a kind and caring host who insults someone giving actual loving criticism.

this is hypocritical of you lol

ugh.. sam hyde???? thats messed up drendran...
