can u explain ur posts in the israel thread lol
he is posting like hes afraid of being deported for criticizing israel as a joke
Although a little dramatic I get where they're coming from. Depending on their nationality/If they're in the USA/Situation it actually is a bit of a stuff show. It's probably not a joke.
I appreciate the commitment to the bit but that thread was kind of one of my main sources of news for a while
So honestly I really didn't think that people would even care/notice me closing out the thread. I figured that the people who are following whats going on in the middle east already would know what I was posting, regardless on where they fell on the issue.
That said, it is a dangerous time to be critical of the US's only remaining foreign ally, as people are being disappeared in broad daylight by masked men in unmarked cars who refuse to show ID.
One of the primary reasons for this is the dissolution of Due Process in the United States. Even for people like me who can trace my family's presence in America to the mid 1700's, there is little to stop the goverment from picking you or I up on the suspicion of supporting a terrorist group, and lobbing us onto a one-way flight to El Salvador.
The recent supreme court ruling hardly has helped anything. They maintained Due Process is important, but shunted the case back down to the Texas State courts.

Annoying Orange's team, however, has claimed this as a win and a mandate to continue their actions, likely meaning they plan to ignore the suggestion of SCOTUS that we adhere to due process for deportations.
While I, a straight-passing white male, have little to worry about for at least a few months while the system chews through our more melinated neighbors, it is important to acknowledge that these changes to government policy affect everyone.
Mostly though, with the recent attacks against a hospital where the majority of casualties were children:
https://apnews.com/article/gaza-ceasefire-israel-hospital-children-f70b6205d99a14ffc4cfd14bfeed8944Israel caught lying about point-blank executing 15 uniformed medics in a clearly marked ambulance:
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/israeli-military-gaza-medical-workers-killed-rcna199945(They previously said the medics were acting suspicious until a phone that had recorded the incident was discovered on one of the bodies dumped in a mass grave)
And now the US-backed plan to expel all Palestinians from their ancestral home
https://www.npr.org/2025/03/11/nx-s1-5324605/gaza-emigration-israel-Annoying Orange
It has all been a bit too overwhelming to continue with the constant updates. Considering this most recent incursion into Gaza since Israel broke the ceasefire right after Annoying Oranges inauguration has been somehow even more brutal
https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/04/1161816With the deathtoll now surpassing 50,000
https://www.npr.org/2025/03/23/nx-s1-5337938/palestinian-deaths-gaza-israel(Which doesnt even include evereyone who died due to disease or starvation or dehydration, or have been permanently disabled due to injury).
I can reopen the thread if people want, but I was under the impression it was making little impression for the amount of stress it was to maintain.
And I should point out that nothing in this thread reflects any opinion (beyond my overall depression), and as always, I am merely repeating the facts as presented on accredited news sites.
