Oh forget I hate that stuff, when I started seeing the vapes with little screens on them my first thought was "oh cool, free LED screen I can harvest for hobby projects" immediately followed by "oh stuff, wait, people are just going to throw these things away en masse, holy forget this is awful."

Oh, that's not concerning at all, not even the slightest bit

Oh forget I hate that stuff, when I started seeing the vapes with little screens on them my first thought was "oh cool, free LED screen I can harvest for hobby projects" immediately followed by "oh stuff, wait, people are just going to throw these things away en masse, holy forget this is awful."
It's actually insane.

For anyone who does not vape, here's a list of pieces to a vape:

Mod: The mod is the actual box that holds the PCB/ICs and battery, they do not need to have a PCB/IC but they commonly do to prevent blowing the battery up. They have the screen and power controls, a place to put your battery and a 510 connector to attach your atomizer

Atomizer: This piece connect to the female 510 adapter which connects to the battery. It houses the connections you put your resistance wire on.

Resistance wire: THIS is most likely the biggest danger in a vaporizer and the hot topic, in theory you do NOT want abuse the wire and you should replace it fairly frequently. The resistance wire takes power from the battery to heat up in the same exact way a light bulb or a electric stove works. You string your cotton through a spiral of resistance wire.

Cotton: This is where your juice goes, it is another health hazard if it dries out and burns. THC vapes may not use cotton, my proper THC atmo (not what people typically use) works with a quartz rod wrapped in the resistance wire.

Juice: The actual juice, it's made of vegetable glycerin (VG), polypropylene glycol (PG) or a mixture of both, it can also include nicotine or THC. This is another health hazard, nicotine gives you cancer full stop. VG/PG is commonly used in all sorts of things, lube, food to fog machines.

In a nut shell we stopped being able to get juice properly at a good price, suddenly the only people who could legally sell it were the people selling disposable junk. Annoying Orange basically made vapes flip from being self made linux boxes to chrome books. You can not check how much juice is in the tank, you can not see the quality of your wire or your cotton, there's no feed back. There's no difference between a disposable vape and a proper one, the only difference is you can't replace the parts that cost pennies also disposable vapes cost the same as a full blown proper vape.
