maybe because the eyeball that your enemy is so fondly attached to has the potential to fly over the Patomic if you head shot him with a sniper rifle. On a related note, I once shot a mole rat with a mini-nuke because it scared the stuff out of me when it attacked from behind.
I once shot an Enclave soldier with the Hunting Rifle in VATS...
His head fell off, sure, but his body shot straight up a few hundred feet. Took a good minute or so for it to fall back down.

There's that one part in Blood Harvest with the mutilated cow.

BLOOD, BLOOD, GALLONS OF THE STUFF!

Anyways, have you ever shot a gun at someone and blood not spurt out? Ever seen a movie or show where someone was shot and didn't bleed?

Guns = Blood
Blood = Gore
Gore = Awesome.

Once I thought it was a Brahmin from Fallout 3, but I got said when I saw it wasn't :(

An average man of 150 lbs or 70 kgs will have around 8 pints or 5.2 litres of blood.

So yeah, that's not gallons.

As you guys said before...I really like the almost comical representation of gore in Fallout 3.

There is nothing that makes you feel more like a total bad-ass than using a rifle to cause the heads of an attacker to explode or for your foe's limbs to go flying off. I find the melee/fire damage combo of the shiskebab to be one of the best ingame experience so far (of any game). It's visceral, it's colorful and satisfying.

If you come at the "issue" from the "games are art" or "games are a form of escape" angle then the blood doesn't seem like such a big deal. My only reservation about the blood is when the designers to decide to get a bit too heavy handed when it comes to spreading it on my screen so I can't see the action.

I agree with this :o

Its almost a good thing. With all this blood the games will be rated M. M Rated means there will be less annoiying kids online to ruin your fun with squeaky voices in mic.

What the forget is up with modern games, all they are now is 23091293874019236549278340923752390492034 gallons of blood.

23091293874019236549278340923 752390492035 gallons actually

fallouts gore is comical. If there were guts and internal body parts everywhere i don't think i would want to play really.

I recently saw a mom buying Gears of War 2 for their kids.

No, you are wrong.

No, you are wrong.
Not where I live, but in other places I would be wrong.

Its because of blood i cant get fable 2. Which is seemingly harmless to the parent eye, but when examined closely and thoroughly, its "extremely violent."
