I was running 1.7.3 just fine, easily pulling off max draw distance with 60+ fps. forget.

You should try toggling other settings on and off, i.e. Advanced OpenGL.

Fast mode, no Advance OpenGL, lowest draw distance, smooth lighting off, less than 30 fps.

I normaly get less than 30 fps on my sister's computer which is a decent gaming computer, stop whining you babies.
In fact, I'm lucky if I hit 30 fps.
