Since 1.8Pre-release2 and the official 1.8, there is 3 strongholds per world now.

Yeah. I was sort-of confused if it was the world generator's percentage, or a specific value.

I wish I could find one, however.

Very big. As big as you would expect as on a dungeon generator type thing

I had this amazing seed with a perfect river, a village with correct roads, and big mountains in the 1.8 prerelease, but now the seed is some terrible piece of crap. It was a great showcase of the changes to the terrain in 1.8.

1) Rarer than diamonds, but worth more than 64 TNT.

2) As big as you can think of it. I went in one that stretched through (literally, through!) about 10 mineshafts and 3 ravines.
