Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6815799 times)

All you kids with your fancy shaders, while I'm here with everything on minimum, render distance 4 chunks, and I'm still lagging.

minecraft runs like five butts

watch out, he's hard as nails

As if

Minecraft might be terribly optimized but you dont need a supercomputer to run shaders. 120+ fps easy with all shaders and a 64x texture pack
Unless you got a crap GPU like me. I get a stable 50 fps with 0.33% render resolution on Sildur's Vibrant shaders.

first time ive touched the game in like 6 months, and its fun now
the seed is #gamergate if anyone wants it, sheep at spawn and pigs aswell

Anyways, could you guys post what shaders you're using?
I play primarily just using SEUS

minecraft has gotten horrible at displaying chunks recently

i used to be able to see far away but now i can see the non-chunkiness of the distance
are they even called chunks any more
of disappoint :(

Been playing some modded stuff now that I'm running on a 64 bit system with plenty of RAM

I've had a love affair with Tinkers' Construct for a long time and a few mod packs have introduced me to one of its best friends, Iguana's Tinker Tweaks, which does a lot of really great stuff to the mod including

- Disabling vanilla tools: can be crafted in case they're needed for other mods but won't mine anything, forcing you to use TC
- Material restrictions: certain things can't be used to make certain parts anymore, stone parts can't be used in tools at all
- Tool experience: using a tool for its intended purpose levels it up and adds random modifiers (like haste and luck)
- Pickaxe boost: pickaxes start a mining level lower and need to be used until they reach full potential (can also be augmented with a mob head or disabled in the config entirely)
- Part replacements: any fully repaired tool can have any part swapped out, letting you save your tool experience and minimizing wasted material
- Slower progression: takes more than a measly 15 minutes to get iron tools, there are many more mining tiers and each one requires a tool head made of the previous material to gather

There's a lot of other little things too including helpful tooltips, a clay bucket for that period between having a smeltery but being unable to mine iron, repairing tools in the crafting window, and requiring you to craft gravel into flint

displaying chunks sucks in 1.8

What the forget how does everyone have realistic water

Shaders mod.

Also I find optifine to be a #1 priority.
I have a ok gaming rig, but I always install it to make sure I get maximum FPS.

I hate the fact there is no shaders mod for 1.8.1, and they skipped 1.8.2, 1.8.3 shaders are still being ported.

I'd like to get my hands on some of these resource packs and shaders mods
