Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it

Currency = Bad
Bartering = Good

I just don't like the idea of losing the use of one of the materials (Especially clay for bricks) just so I can buy things off people.

And even if the currency is a dedicated item, arbitrary currency makes no sense at all. I can't defend myself with coins. I can't build a house out of one dollar bills. I can't replace my pickaxe with it either, so why do I want it?

Unless there's NPCs. Which if I ever decided to implement my ideas for it into a mod, there would be. RPG style, currency and arbitrary stuff drops from monsters, skills and experience, etc.

Once PVP comes out, there can be a complete government system, with militaristic and judicial systems in place. Then currency can be implemented and other stuff can be put into place.

So basically... Notch, finish PVP.
