Might also work if you are not getting them.

Re-download the Minecraft.exe from here

Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\.minecraft" (That's for XP, I don't know what it is for Vista/7) And rename your bin folder to something like "bin_Pre-Hallo" or delete if you feel safe.

Run Minecraft.

pour bucket of water on lava spring = obsidian

well, now I know it takes about 3-5 arrows to kill a ghast
not like you'll ever be able to get that close to one
holy stuff, if you get a nicely aimed arrow you can fire their bombs back at them
