You install mods by putting the .class files in the .jar by opening the .jar with WinRAR.
Then delete META-INF.

how can I make my server be a .com instead of my ip address?
Once you have a .com name, you just need to find a way to tell the name servers to point towards your IP. I own nitramtj.com through dreamhost, from there I point my name servers to afraid.org's servers. afraid.org lets you then choose where the name points to, and also lets you manage the subdomains. Just make sure you make your domain private so others can't use it.

But yea, that's half the reason I started my server, so people wouldn't have to remember an IP.

Oh I also saw 3 of you guys were in the server, did you all just leave, or were you randomly disconnected?

Steam is pissing me off D:

Download for Gmod on my new computer went from 2mb/s down to loving barely 1KB/s

da fawk

Meanwhile I'm playing minecraft and I no longer get 1fps on tiny render distance. Feels good :D

Make the .com redirect to your server's IP address.
EDIT: Even better point your .com to your afraid.org domain like nit suggested then have the afraid.org domain point to your ip address. Afraid.org has a program that auto updates your IP if you have a dynamic one aswell.

Oh, I turned it into a .zip and extracted it and removed META-INF, but then I realized I can't turn the non-Meta folder into a .jar. forget.
Somebody find me a .jar opener. Going to bed.

Can I use a sub domain of my site as well?

I don't have access to my domain name servers (Slicksilver bought it for me) so I'm not sure, but you SHOULD be able to point a certain sub domain to an afraid.org sub domain by modifying your domain name servers account.

a jar is basically a over glorified zip file. Use 7zip or winrar

Or something similar if your on a mac.

Free server hosting?
Like, a minecraft server?

Q.  How fast is Afraid.org?

A.  The primary server is a 2U rackmount 2.8 GHz Dual Xeon
server with 2 GB of RAM, and dual 10k RPM SCSI disks.

wtf I know that's not a lot, but...........it's more than my netbook, and it's dedicated.
And free.

You have no clue. That is not a hosting service, it is a DNS service.
