Well one thing you can do is open of task manager, right click minecraft, click go to process, then right click the process and click set priority then click high. It should go alittle faster.

I can connect to my own server through LAN and WAN so it's either your computer or those servers.

After this recent update, I have not been able to join ANY servers.

When i try to join one, I get the error "Connection timed out : Connect"

I checked all my firewall settings and ports and what not, and i see no problems. My Firewall is even off

What should I do?

i has idea for mod

This mod makes little slimes appear like regular mobs, and sometimes outside. Smelting lime dye makes a slimeball. Feed a slime one of these and you get to unput a name for him. He also gets a cute smile (like Steve from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPDFvrvd7L8&feature=related in fact this made me this idea). He will follow you anywhere, albeit a little loosely. Feed him a gold helmet and his name will be yellow, and he will follow you better and even push the cart you sit in.
