I've had it with people spreading around false information about "adventure mode."

1.8 is the adventure UPDATE. This will bring things from RPG-like games into Minecraft, including NPC villages, potions, a new mob, and more focus on combat and exploring.

The Adventure MODE is a new gamemode that will be like the popular mod "AdventureCraft." There might be an editor for maps, there will be NPCs and actual dungeons, and you cannot break or place any blocks.
