That's stupid, it's like choosing if you can spawn in the nether first; you won't get the right materials and if I'm not mistaken you'd have to hack to go to the normal world in you spawn in the Aether with no portal.

i think it should be a kind of ore, skyroot should make skyroot bowels that you use to make cloud soup or some stuff like that.

But there already are skyroot buckets. The only thing you CAN'T carry in them is lava...
