Why are Endermen called Endermen and not Slendermen? Enderman clearly comes from Slenderman but people chopped off the sl for some reason even though Slenderman is way easier to say than Enderman.

What it will do is suffocate zombies/skeletons/creepers and you can probably figure out how to get the loot since I'm too lazy

Because Endermen is somewhat more creative and they don't look like Slendy except for having skinny limbs like a skeleton's and being mostly black.

Notch said he didn't want rip off the name so he just called them Endermen as a reference to the Slenderman.
