Well, I want to find an Alpha account since I usually dread having to pay for simple expansions. Obviously Google is getting me scam central. And it's probably illegal to sell these accounts anyway, isn't it?

No, now it's in Beta. Beta accounts only get everything discounted. And I'd really hate the whole "Oh, you don't got this expansion, so we don't play with you" crap. Especially with multiple paid expansions. But it's not legal in any case to do this, is it? Answer?

There is no special stuff for people who bought it in Alpha or anything, if that's what your saying. The only pro was that it was cheaper, while you had to play a game that was in the Alpha stage. Same goes for Beta.

Notch had something in a user agreement that Might have gotten him in legal trouble (I think, im not sure) so he changed it to say something along the lines of, "Alpha buyers get expansions for free"
But most of you dont see it,
Why would Minecraft EVER have an expansion? It makes no logical sense.

Awdax found the specific message. They removed the assurance everything would be free, but people who bought it before that assurance was removed still have it. AKA Alpha users are assured everything is free, whereas everyone else can be charged whatever.
