I think that 1.8 being leaked was a good thing, so they could get most of the stuff worked out before release.

Indeed, it was a good thing, or at least it was in my opinion.

I believe they should do this more often, helps them find the bugs, and people won't complain as much about the next update. In the end, everyone's happy. Of course, it would be optional to download a pre-release.

I finally decided to stop being lazy and used MCPatcher, but I cant find any decent-looking 64x64+ texture packs. I went to that one megathread on the MC forums, and maybe I just didnt look at the higher-res texture packs enough..? all I have is Last Days so far, and I want some more higher res. if there's a REALLY good 32x32, then Ill take a look.

basically, give me a loving texture pack that's at least good, if not really good. 64x64+, or 32x32 if it's really good.
