I was getting 127fps staring into the map on Classic, but that's probably down to like 80 in 1.8.

I'm having trouble running Minecraft through Steam. Steam flashes for a moment saying I'm on Minecraft, then goes to regular Online. Why isn't Steam keeping track of Minecraft being open?
