Why is everyone complaining about the NPCs? Why are they complaining about the way Notch would imagine villagers? You want him to sway so far to the fanbase over his own creative ideals? This is how he imagined the sentient creatures of the Minecraft World would be, at least some of them. He wanted them to look awkward, and it might also be so he wouldn't need tons of different textures to jam up the game. You all better be ready to help him if you want them to be different so badly.
