Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6837036 times)

Is it possible to have two versions of minecraft? Like one exe that is 1.8 and one that is 1.9?
like this

Anyone know of any mods to eliminate the excessive cave fog at near-bedrock levels?

it won't be mandatory, dat would just be silly
you still have creative mode and peaceful
oh and there already is a "mandatory feature that destroys builds"
it's called a creeper

Creepers rarely destroy anything I have and I will absolutely NOT tolerate having to play on creative or peaceful just because I don't want to play Dwarf Fortress 2.

I covered creepers by saying that there won't be a largescale thing. Creepers do minor damage.

And forget you, I like to have mobs in my world I play on normal. I enjoy skeletons, zombles, and creepers (enderman are dumb) and do not want to lose them.
I should not be forced to risk losing everything that I've worked hard to build just because a red moon rises in the sky and releases ghasts that blow everything up.

Notice I said "worked hard to build", creative mode isn't working hard. I like to work hard on my builds because it gives me the satisfaction of knowing I accomplished something through hard work.

I read on the wiki (before it was taken down, not sure why. There was a link to Notch mentioning this I think) that there was going to be a Zombie Seige mode. A red moon would rise, and a bunch of zombies would attack, only zombies, and they would slowly break away blocks in their way.

This is fine.
Make it its own mode and it is fine.

Fill the world with destructive beings in a gamemode that revolves around collecting materials to build with and then there is a problem.

If Notch did add this, there had better be a way to prevent it.

Wait, how does that work?
Minecraft only uses the jar named 'minecraft'

A spider fell into the Snow Golem Dispenser. A second one, too. Sadly, they'll all die.

Two of those descending tunnels in an abandoned mine crossed into each other, making an amazing X shape!

Found an NPC Village, started destroying it. The building directly ahead actually has a Villager in it that somehow survived with his house intact.

Such strange structures. Held up by an unevenly placed 1 block stack.

I found a lot of floating land by plains. This is a small flat island with a tree on it. Weird.

Just beautiful.

Anyone know what the "World Type" option is when creating a new map?

That would be cool, actually. If you were to select it before creating the map. Maybe that's what the World Type thing is.
I would enjoy that.

Isnt that like, Creative or Survival?

No, there's that, but when you go to world options or whatever it's called, there's a grayed out option for "World Type"

It's probably going to be options like Island, Continent, etc.

Maybe something like: Alpha Snow World, Indev Island (with all the options), Creative limited world (for people with sucky computers who can't render new chunks or something like that), etc.
