I know what it is.  But terraforming in Minecraft takes a stuff ton of work without using a 3rd party editing tool.

I'm really not a fan of the mod in that video though.
I don't like the idea of guns in minecraft at all.

The only thing I'd be okay with is a musket.
But it would have to be realy slow to reload and stuff.

I concur with the musket, fast firing weapons wouldn't match the feel of the game. However, old black powder cannons would be great for castles.

Question: can Minecarts go through nether portals?

nope
they can as in pass through them but they won't switch worlds.
since portal blocks aren't solid
