I downgraded to 1.7.3 for buildcraft, and the engines aren't working. I changed the line of code in the config file. I powered a wooden engine and and it makes red sparkle things, but it doesn't move or power anything. Somebody please help.

I cant even get the pack to work :(

I put it next to a miner and it doesn't do anything. Do I need to attach it in some other way?

Wood isnt strong enough. You need a stone engine. It runs on coal and a redstone current

But wouldn't it still move? Also I put a stone engine next to it with coal and redstone. It also makes the red particle effects, but it doesn't move, and the miner doesn't dig. How long does it take for it to dig just 1 block?

Maybe you installed it wrong? It SHOULD work. Also make sure the Smaller end is pointing towards the machine
