You have to play online once to play offline. How did you do that hmmm?

Help!
My server dosent work!
I start up the program and it keeps saying that a server is allready running on the same port.
nobody in my family is hosting a server and i tryed changing the port and it didnt work.

You can download minecraft for free legally, but you only download the launcher, not the actual game.

Notch should do something to prevent people from doing that 'play offline' thing. The only thing you don't get from that is SMP.

You really need to stop with the unnecessary swearing.
It doesn't make you look any better.

To play offline, the Launcher has to download the files online after logging in to an account which has been verified as owning Minecraft, either via purchase or gift code.

Acquiring these files in any other way is against the Minecraft Terms of Use.

There is no way to play Minecraft on an account on which the game has not been purchased or gifted. You either buy the game or break the Terms of Use.
