Is there really no way to use Technic other than the Launcher?

I don't care how trusted it is, I don't feel like putting my account information in there. There was nothing wrong with installing it the old fashioned way.

You can install all those mods yourself if you REALLY want to...

Tekkit/Technic launcher does it easily for you. Its safe

Back when the Technic Pack first came out, it was a big compiled mod that you installed like any other. There was nothing wrong with that, and that's the way I preferred it.
