Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 7015084 times)

The point I'm trying to make is I made this Blaze Skin myself in Photoshop, and the EXIF data seems to prove it with dates and all. I know the data can be manipulated, so I won't go "Ya, that's utter proof," but I did do it.

And that's all because ' sure there's lots of Blaze skin variations by now and I don't want people thinking I stole this one.

Who cares who made the skin? It's a pretty generic idea making a player skin look like a mob.

Just that I made mine immediately after they were available and so mine was one of the first, if not in the first three... Now it's a generic idea in the sense of a Blaze Skin. Of course not in the sense of a mob skin.

Edit: This is what I get for letting random people shoot eggs all over my chicken pen. I tried to tell them I had too many chickens as is, they just liked throwing the damn eggs... And me being waste-not-want-not makes things worse:

Yes, after this, I killed a majority of the chickens to reduce the egg rate.

(I was originally going to post this in Axo's Creativity thread, but I figured it'd be more relevant and likely to get responses here)

the only gameplay mods I use are SPC, TMI, and all of RedPower
I wouldn't use World, except it's required for Machines
I don't really care for Survival, so I don't have any mods that wouldn't serve a purpose in Creative

with all this talk of NEI (no context here; Not Enough Items) though, I'm thinking of switching
can someone explain exactly what's different between it and TMI?

That's a lot of eggs.

What mods do you lot of stuffbags play with regularly?
I can't stand Tekkit, frankly. There's just too much stuff that serves no real purpose aside from automation; likewise with the full Redpower suite, even. I'm all for doing less work but it just feels bloated as hell, I like vanilla minecraft.

I personally only use a fairly minimal suite of mods:
- Smart Moving, because new animations and easier to get around sans stack of dirt or ladders.
- Redpower Wiring & Logic (+ Microblocks), allows some new ways of building and easier wiring, plus all the common gates you'd have to build by hand are single blocks using the Logic module.
- Inficraft Blocks, because the new stone tiles and stuff from chiselling are lovey.
- Flora & Soma, because BLUEBERRIES and new trees and stuff. What's not to like?
- Backpacks, to allow me to cart more stuff around and organize myself better.
- Not Enough Items (NEI), because I dislike TooManyItems' look. NEI fits in better and provides the same or better functionality.

That's about it, aside from dependencies (Modloader, 4096fix, Forge 3.1.2.90, Audiomod etc the usual). I launch this through MultiMC so it manages the mods for me, saves on effort installing them all every time. If I really had to cut it down to one of these mods it'd be Smart Moving hands down.
Used to use Mo' Creatures but they all had no real purpose. Horses and stuff didn't even drop leather or anything and the cat beds and fishbowls were just horrid. Love the idea, and the world does feel genuinely quite empty without it, but it feels a bit out of place sometimes.
(crossposting because this is the right place for this discussion)

E: dat timing this wasn't here when I posted

As far as I know there's no functional differences, unless TMI lacks realtime search, item subsets (filters down to certain lists) or time of day setting and such. I just prefer how NEI lets you choose if you want it to use big black buttons or the default minecraft ones, it makes it look less weird.

*gasp*
filters! this is good.
I don't understand the reason for search though, unless you just have a forgetload of mods that add too many items (heh)
but TMI does have time of day, difficulty, and gamemode settings

That's a lot of eggs.

When is Jeb going to make a new version of the Ender Dragon Egg which is just a giant chicken egg? You combine 4 eggs to make one of those. The big ones are simply storage and can't actually be placed... I don't know, I just hate having this many eggs and also not wanting to waste them since I live in an underground bunker and quite possibly could lose my chickens since it's on a server.

Redpower
Just the core adds all the microblocks which is like 8+ pages on my laptop to sift through, whereas I can just type "cover" and get all the covers which are basically all I'm gonna use
Then add Inficraft Tools and you got yourself a good 15 pages of tools too

My game is updating something, but keeps freezing at the "done loading" screen.

do you mean actual Microblocks? or are you just talking about the covers in Wiring?
does that add useful tools? anything really good would mean it's worth downloading, because I do play SSP occasionally still

and also, do you know if there's a way to add new filters? b/c there really are so many covers and panels etc. that I'd rather just stick them all in a set by themselves to keep them in an easy place and also to un-clutter the other things

What mods do you lot of stuffbags play with regularly?

- Redpower. I love the microblocks and ores.
- Millenaire. Villages spawn too frequent imo but it adds a lot of new stuff which is really fun.
- Fossils and Archaeology (sometimes). It gives lots of cool stuff to dino nerds like me but I dislike how poorly it generates structures, and how slowly the creator updates.

I have yet to try out Aether but when 1.3.0 is out I plan on getting it and playing all four of those mods at once for super fun.

- Redpower. microblocks
why
they're not called microblocks ;~;
Microblocks are microblocks
RedPower's things are called sub blocks

I didn't know what they were called, I was just using the term M came up with. :cookieMonster: Also, to answer your previous questions.

It adds a saw tool which can be used to cut normal blocks into a variety of smaller pieces which can be used for tons of stuff. Like this.

The aforementioned saw is really cool, but it also adds ruby, sapphire, and emerald. These are used to make tools that have the same mining speed as diamond but are only as durable as iron. They also can't mine obsidian.
