Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 6748286 times)

the program to view chat is courtesy of guude, he's made it so the latest few lines of chat on the vanilla mindcrack server are posted to http://guudelp.com/logsimple.cgi

Code: [Select]
--this is just version 1 I have plans for it

local response = http.get( "http://guudelp.com/logsimple.cgi" )
if response then
 print( "Got It!" )
 local sResponse = response.readAll()
 response.close()
 print ( sResponse )
end

if you want to try it I've already put it on pastebin so all you have to do is make sure the http API is enabled in the computercraft config and enter pastebin get 2Khm1f97 [program name]

it was really just trying to figure out how to download scripts from pastebin that took the most time lol, ended up finding the question on the computercraft forum that kingdaro coincidentally answered

That awkward moment when you realize your train station has the same shape as a small ship
That awkward moment when there is a guy next to your trainstation

does this chat update in real time? that'd be pretty cool, you could just make a loop that would get the chat every second and just get aLL UP IN THEIR BUSINESS while you're playing worm or some stuff

I'm not sure how frequently it updates, but I can't imagine it's too frequently

I suspect guude will update the program to loop and potentially do other stuff once he gets the monitor in his house on the FTB server ready, this was just a test left over from the early days of the server before he had to reset it because of the mod pack update

he might even be doing that right now, I've been watching all of generikb's FTB episodes and have neglected my youtube feed for at least 48 hours, last I checked guude had finished his insane sorting + cataloging system and I don't recall what he said he was going to do next (if you haven't seen it kingdaro I think you'd like it, a fully automated system done with computercraft)

Yogscast finally finished their tekkit series.

Took them seven mother loving months jesus.
its not necessarily over, they were all laughing when they said it was over, which they've done many times before.
but either way, it didn't take them 7 months to finish their series, that doesn't make sense, it took them seven months to make a jaffa factory. But their real goal wasn't to finish the series, nor was it to build an automatic jaffa cake production facility.  Their goal was to create an entertaining series of videos and then milk it as long as they could.

so guys, like

if all of a sudden everyone's clients were all on an alpha version (maybe like 1.2.5), how would you react?

lol'd

I'm serious, there's absolutely no appeal to older versions of the game for me

oooooh, lighting is forced to look ugly and there are no biomes, enchantments, and only half as many blocks! riveting!

nah, i feel the same way. just didn't expect your reaction in particular.

Without watching it yet, I can say they have been getting into "VOLTZ" or whatever and were probably planning on moving into that.

I'd forget about minecraft forever.

Lewis and that other British guy that is like a Yellow Makanix started a VOLTZ Lets Play

I know, I've been watching their Voltz LP. I did watch the video afterwards, and they definitely aren't utterly ending the series. A lot of stuff still isn't working, like bone meal transportation. I don't think they're done. But when they finish up, they will likely move into Voltz so people can't complain about how little challenge it is like Tekkit.
