My favorite biome to do survival in is Extreme Hills. I have a huge compound with farms and everything inside a hill. I even have an elevator out of rails.

last i remember, some update actually made extreme hills have slightly more ores to make up for the lack of basically anything else, and of course emeralds.

also, holy loving stuff blulectric engines produce 23+ mj p tick. i can produce 5000 mj in three seconds.

I would do it, but I'm currently doing Tekkit Lite with my cousins & friends.
If I did, what type of terrain should it be?

Either beta or custom with the pine biomes off. The pine biomes cause lag for some reason, I think it has something to do with the ton of differently shaped trees.

other than doors pistons really aren't needed when you're trying to survive.

Pus a piston only uses one iron ingot.
