ExtraUtilities is pretty entrepreneur in' too. Right now, it and Thermal Expansion are kinda my favorite mods.

I kinda miss the time Thermal Expansion used Buildcraft Energy. Though that could just be me being annoyed at
the multiple different energy systems out there in mods.

FTB is deliberately making it so Thermal Expansion is the primary source of power from here on out, meaning IC2 is finally getting its well deserved execution. as well, anyone who hasn't tried out FTB Horizons should definitely do so, it's a very different modpack that has a looooooot of diverse content.

Never heard of ExtraUtilities but it looks like a supercharged OpenBlocks, might have to look into it if it doesn't have any big conflicts with my other mods, I've also explored a pretty huge chunk of my world already so new world generation might be difficult

Thermal Expansion, Tinker's Construct, OpenBlocks, Thaumcraft, Bibliocraft, Biomes O Plenty, Harken Scythe, and ProjectRed are probably my all-time favorite mods

Yeah I've been listening to the jazz one since I got back to base, reminds me of the radio in the Fallout games and I absolutely love that stuff

I almost just forgot about the radio because the first cartridge I put in gave an error, but it turns out I just forgot to install the codec pack
Right? I actually heard "Why Don't You Do Right" which is a song from Fallout New Vegas I think. Incredible station, just wish there weren't ads to break up the greatness.

This is amazing and I approve. IC2 is just... meh. The crafting recipes are incredibly annoying and TBH underpowered, the machines are painfully slow without overclockers, most of the textures are ugly, and it doesn't seem to have the features of a modern mod. Thermal Expansion is prettier, apparently has a better API, more user-friendly, and still balanced. A lot of mods already support it and it's only been popular for about one version. Extra Utilities has a bunch of really cool TE generators, Tinker's Construct supports making Flux tools (and as a matter of fact recently ABANDONED IC2 power), PowerSuits can use it as an energy source and for crafting recipes, as can Applied Energistics, and it's even backwards-compatible with anything using BC energy, including Forestry. It's much better suited as a core mod for any pack. The ONLY reason I can see people using IC2 is for UU matter and the induction furnace because of it's speed - and in that regard, the developers of TE are adding upgrades.

Speaking of FTB, I was hoping someone could host a 1.6.4 server (DW20 or Monster pack, I guess Horizons if you feel like it) soon.

i'm on a really good 2.1.1 horizons server right now, very few restrictions, very few plugins, good group. mc.bootyliciousgaming.net

ProjectRed's Transportation branch allows for an incredible home storage system, took me about an hour to craft and set up the basic components around my home last night with a little help from one of Generikb's videos but holy hell it's a quadrillion times better than trying to sort everything myself (you know how it goes, sometimes something could fit into multiple categories and then you forget which one you chose to go with so you end up with bits of it in each chest....UGH), with a few more chips and some tweaking to the current ones it'll actually be sorted and not just randomly stuffed into a bunch of chests in a dark corner of the forge's basement

I had a load of aluminum brass on hand so I just kinda...I'll be changing that at some point

We should probably start a separate Feed the Beast thread.

i don't see a point if its not a dedicated feed the beast server topic of sorts unless it is and i'm not reading right

Thanks Regulith, been looking to find where that mod was after I saw it in Attack of the B-Team. I heard there were some rare bugs where it'd eat stuff or clone it, you have any problems like that?

I'm not using FTB though so I guess I'll just stay here

I literally JUST implemented it so I haven't had a chance to tell, but I believe in a more recent video someone said ProjectRed fixed it up

I didn't realize that Tinker's Mechworks was a separate mod and I've been trying to figure out what was wrong with my TC installation that wasn't making the Drawbridge show up in NEI :T

Alright, thanks. I'll have to check it out.

what mods are you using, in total? it actually sounds like you're basically using horizons in terms of mods and you could transplant your save just fine.

NEI and various plugins
OpenBlocks
Tinker's Construct
Tinker's Mechworks
Natura
Archimedes' Ships
Thaumcraft 4
Better Storage
Bibliocraft
Biomes O Plenty
EnhancedPortals 2
ExtraUtilities
Morph
Harken Scythe
Necromancy
ProjectRed
Thermal Expansion
WAILA
Waypoints

Not sure why I'd change though, I'm perfectly fine with being able to modify this custom modpack at my leisure

On another note;

Why is this the first time I've ever seen this? How long has NEI or one of its plugins had the ability to allow mod creators to show info directly in the interface like this? None of the other mods I have installed seem to utilize this feature despite it being amazing, no more loving around in Minecraft Forum threads or badly maintained wikis looking for details and instructions on how things work
