There is a help tab. It has a tutorial for you to read. Thorax and I reccomend this. Also try to upgrade resource , Storage house, and Hiding place. Then build up your HQ, Barracks, Market,Smithy, Academy. Also, Don't forgot to upgrade your farms!

What lvl does the barracks need to be to recruit swords men?Im recruiting 10 spears men right now

You actually need to build a smithy for Swordman. Once you finish building a smithy then you can recruit Swordmen. Upgrading a Smithy lets you build Axemen.
