TL;DR of this mod:

hurr new models :D

:C no disk space left

not worth the memory. I might as well change the graphics level in HL2 to SUPER ULTRA HIGH LAGGY SETTINGS GO! and bust my video card.

LOL.

If HL2 busts your graphics card on "very high" you must have the crappiest computer still working today.

Right now, an i7 can run HL2 on "very high" at 300+ FPS.  You do the math.  Heck, my Pentium 4 can run HL2 on "very high" and get away with 40 FPS.

No HL2: CM makes it laggy. I go from 90 fps to 20. WHO NEEDS 8096x8096 SIZED TEXTURES ANYWAYS!?

but seriously, the guy who made it:
1) Too much time
2) love graphics settings to be higher then normal
3) Goes along with Penn & Teller's view on things. You'd have to have watched more recent P&T: Bullstuff to get it.

I'm not going to pretend that this is a mod for people who don't have high end hardware. This is a mod for people who want to use their hardware to the fullest while playing the excellent game that is HL2. If your computer is average, then you'll have to settle for vanilla HL2 which still looks great anyway imo.

When I first saw this, thought it was finally the thing where you can make movies easier, but that's still not released.

Anyway, looks nice. Might download

I agree, I can run it on very high on my comp and I have a ATI x600 Radeon, and I get atleast 65fps.

If you're all so opposed to the notion of running this mod then why even post in this thread? This really is becoming a growing trend.

This is the equivalent to "if you don't care, don't post". Just don't post OK.

Those trees look out of place in that first picture. Might be hard to live next to all of that waste.

Yes, The developer loves giant textures, He even uses them on things you can't see

Also hl2 still looks good today, Sure some textures look bad close up but eh.

It's things like these that made me wish my computer didn't suck.
