You don't create a new post for a ninja dumbass

EDIT: What about a friend count meter?

That be cool.

What's a friend count meter?

Maybe stats to show how many users are online one day, how many aren't the next, etc. Like a line graph.

I'd laugh if this has been suggested and I get flamed for it.

Displays the Amount of friends you have on a service.

Preferably, Friend Count.

Hasn't been suggested and it sounds like a dumb idea.

I don't remember where, but I remember seeing a line graph of RTB users/servers versus non RTB users/servers online, if that's what you mean.

If you mean a different one for each person showing friends online/offline, that just sounds like a lot of work for something very few people would actually use.

Bump'd

To have it in a meter form, don't you need a max to compare to? But, then again, I guess there must be a max on RTB Connect friends, so that should work.

I still don't understand the idea of a friend count meter. Let's forget about it.

In other news I've written most of the framework for chatting and got a proof of concept demo working. There are a few things to fix such as inserting ML code into messages and proper handling of message sending errors.

One thing I forgot I had to do was the sending and storing of a user's prefs on the server. This is pretty important because it allows options like "Don't let anyone send me friend invites" and "Don't show people my server" to function. I'll add that tonight - it shouldn't take too long.

Final thing is just some interface clean-up. The user journey from opening the interface to viewing their friends list is pretty poorly designed at the moment so it's something I'll be improving before the beta.

So estimated beta release is within a week?

If anyone asks about the beta again I will specifically prevent them from applying for it.

would someone mind pointing out the RSS feed he mentioned for stat updates? I'd appreciate that. :s
