The closest I've heard him talking about browser in Blockland, is that he is going to make it possible to read the forum in-game. But that is his own protocol...

It would not be feasible to write an HTML and CSS parser in TorqueScript.

When I build the new forums they will be heavily integrated into the RTB API. Making the in-game interface for this would be pretty light work.

Wouldn't that Lag Blockland?

No, It'd work pretty similarly to the Mod Manager.

  • General - People might get auto-joined to this by default and is for discussing blockland/rtb
  • Servers - If you're looking for a server or want people to join yours, advertise here.
  • Helpdesk - Help with rtb/blockland.
  • Off-Topic - Anything else.
Wow that pretty much sums up everything that makes the chatroom awesome.

It would be cool for RTB to save your add-ons.

Let's say you're getting a better computer that plays Crysis, JC2, stuff like that. You install Blockland again and instead of downloading everything from RTB/BL Forums, you just download RTB and get yer addons back.

Would be cool to have it now or v4. But of course, you don't have to.

How much are we allowed to use the current API that's implemented into the client files? I assume looping through the online servers and requesting their add-on list for a survey once a day wouldn't be too bad. You had mentioned "additional API usage" or something along those lines in the RTB Premium service topic though, so is there a current limit we should abide to?

Just go for it. Provided you're not making a ridiculous number of requests then it shouldn't be an issue. I'd prefer the requests to be staggered as opposed to one immediately after the last though.

Yep I hope we meet each other in so we can tell about bugs each other

Also a question to ephi: If you use that sytem you told about The Main Chatrooms, the betta testers would love to communicate with they're friends, How will they contact with someone in the normal irc except the testers?
http://centralchat.net/chat ??

Just type in #rtb as channel.

According to Ephialtes, a few requests will get you barred.

There's a difference

No, based on his past history a few requests will get you banned.

This question could be asked to anyone. Not just Ephi.

Solution:
Install v4. Go on IRC through another client, for example, www.centralchat.net. Or if you download your own client, the server is irc.centralchat.net, and the channel is #RTB.

No, based on his past history a few requests will get you banned.
No. He banned you because you said you were going to send a bunch of requests to RTB for ID collection.

Alrighty. There are about 215 servers online right now, and it'll space out the API calls over the course of about twenty minutes. I might run this every once in awhile (every 3-5 days if I don't forget about it), but if either of those delays are too short just let me know. This isn't anything that needs to run super fast or often for it to work, so it's pretty flexible.

I'm not sure if this was your idea originally, or if someone else has already suggested it, so I'll just go ahead and post it.

Maybe have 1-2 general chat rooms people can join. Maybe a "General Discussion" room and a "Help" room. People who are paying for Premium would have the option of creating their own chat rooms (For clans, their server, etc.) and would have the ability to put passwords on them.
