is this game available for download? (the new version)
No, only when Rotondo hosts a test game.

has he said a release date anymore specific than 2014?

also anybody know where I can find perennial?

i don't think so
maybe he'll do another test session sometime soon since PAX presumably went nicely and got the word out more

i believe the only version that was ever released is this: http://cloud.blockland.us/Perennial-r220.zip
it's almost two years old so i'm sure it's way different now, but it's fun nonetheless and probably a reasonably accurate representation of the game

the thing about dropped items in this game is that it's "first come, first served". it's not instanced like it is in a lot of other action RPGs so that wouldn't exactly work.

i'm sure we'd end up with items getting stuck in the perfect gravitational fields between players

oh yeah, didn't think about that

And then one person moves and the problem is instantly solved?

oh yeah, didn't think about that
It would only target one player.

stupid idea, nvm

It's not a stupid idea, but it doesn't fit with the rest of things since you want players to be able to divy... divee? divvy up items as they choose since it's multiplayer.

Also chests don't appear too often so it's fun to collect things in a flurry like that.

In other news I'm going to be exhibiting at Boston FIG this weekend, http://bostonfig.com/

If you're in the area come on down, I'm not sure what booth I'll be but look for the one with a giant "Happy Box Games/Forgettable Dungeon" sign, or just yell at me on twitter.

I'm going to hopefully have a four player local coop build working by the weekend, this will also be the first build with a working boss.... I hope at least.

If you guys have any neat ideas of things to give away now is the time to share them. ( Preferably things that can be made in like a day )

This isn't really something that would be used for local co-op but.
It would be nice to take control of the camera when spectating/dead, it's basically free look but "fog of war" still applies.
