Yeah the snap benefits thing is kinda the last straw. I've been seeing people "stepping up" and encouraging each other to donate to food banks and supposedly the national guard is preparing to set up foodlines in the absence of food stamps. The narrative seems to be that this is heart-warming and inspiring, but I see it as either enabling a non-functional government to continue it's bad behavior, or at the very least it's the beginning of people figuring out they can provide for themselves better than the government can.

This is called "loving Around" with food, which NEVER ends well.
SNAP benefits are basically a necessity even if you work a job. Wal-Mart relies on their employees being on SNAP, Amazon relies on their employees being on SNAP. SNAP subsidies are an oil that keep money moving and they also make it so the supply of food isn't hitting scarcity levels. Farmers, Grocery stores, basically every step along the food chain benefit from SNAP Benefits.

Without SNAP the economy is going to take a hit and more specifically, the food economy is going to take a major hit. People are going to start starving.

Either way, it's over, boys. I'm legitimately in the market for my first gun. The senate in my state was supposed to approve a budget three months ago and haven't yet, so a bunch of our state programs aren't working either, and on top of that we've lost food stamps.

Get something that takes reasonably common and cheap ammunition.

There is no illusion anymore that this government is legitimate. I know ladios was all worried about getting deported but they quite literally cannot deport us all. This country is toast. I'm 100% serious.

They're evil, but they're so god damned stupid. They don't have the power or knowledge to keep their acts secret. The instant one of these morons kill a grandma everyone is going to know it instantly.

I'm not even saying we should overthrow the government. I'm saying it's happening now whether we want it or not. Look at history, it's the same story every time. You forget with the food, and people snap. The ruling class in this country decided to loving eat us and we can either group up, pool our resources and make our own damn community since they won't let us have one, or we can die. The choice is being thrust upon us now.

Yeah, this time period reminds me less of 1930's Germany, and more like 1820's/1830's France with a hint of the end of Tsarist Russia.

Apparently horseshoe theory is real because I never thought I would go so far extreme left that I'd become a second amendment freak, but here we are. This is the exact kind of stuff washington and all those gay boys were thinking about when they said everyone needs to have a gun.

I was once on the right side of the aisle. I know the tricks of the trade. Conservatives do not argue in good faith, it is part of a grander strategy to recruit.

Unfortunately for you conservatives are out of the recruiting phase that was active in 2016. They smelled the weakness and desire to "debate" and used this as an opportunity to pick out those they could convert.

Little bro is scared of a conversation of all things. This is exactly why the left has the portrayal that it does. Very tolerant of you.

And this is the beginning. Add value to your own opinion to others. It doesn't seem that way, but this search for approval that Momentum implied of others (an obvious projection of himself) is what you're fishing for here.

By making it so difficult to be appealed to, you make it so that any appeal to you is valuable.

Then it's as simple as buttering up the people you see as potential converts. Tell them they're different, get them to feel like a part of your in-group.

And then they're in your discords. In your friends groups. And slowly their opinions shift.
Against basic things at first. Border protections, voter ID laws, gun laws.
Then it's slightly more radical things, obscenity laws, raising the age requirements of smoking or drinking.
And it keeps stepping up and stepping up until one day it's Great Replacement Theory and Holocaust Denialism.

But out in the public you would not dare say these opinions in open forums. Because to do so would be to invite a total alienation. Because you know they are morally wrong, logically insane and no sane person would ever listen to you.

No I don't believe you to be an "evil right-winger". I am overly well acquainted with the right and what they admire. The term "evil right-winger" is redundant.

And if you say to yourself truly that you do not believe these things, or that they are not in alignment with your values, I implore you to consider whether those above you, those you vote for and support, believe the same.

And if you cannot see what is so obvious to everyone else, in that case you are not a right winger, just pitifully ignorant.

There's no way you guys really sat down, wrote this stuff out and think, "Yeah, I cooked with this one, this is the gotcha of all time."

1. Nothing wrong with a fundraiser. They get put up all the time for literally any kind of disaster or crazy situation, hurricanes, morgue/funeral services in general, medical bills for children much less someones forgetin cat. So lets not nitpick here, it's a moot point and a lazy arguement.

They're incredibly rich already, they do not need a fundraiser.

The fundraiser was about vengeance calls for bloodshed, not about preventing this from ever happening again. They not only do not care if it happens again, they would love for it to happen again. If it happens to their side they get a fresh new martyr, if it happens to whoever they say are their enemies then they get what they ultimately want.

This was about pushing their narrative and getting a few fast bucks along the way.

2. What I WANT, in the grand SCHEME of THINGS is IRRELEVENT, to the GREATER CAUSE. blah blah womp womp wah wah. You can still be human and admit someone being a, in this case; mildy and allegedly terrible person, does not warrant behavior like this. Uh no. Them being an incredibly stuffty person doesn't warrant them being shot dead in the middle of a college campus. It DOES warrant being called an incredibly stuffty person and being made fun of post death.

Charlie Kirk was a god awful terrible person. We can and must disavow the means and cause of his death, even though we damn well know he would not have done the same if it were anyone across the aisle from him.

But it is incredibly rich to see the fascist crackdown on so much as a mild smirk in the direction of Charlie Kirk and the stuffty life he lived. So much for the "Humorous Right".

Why bring those up? It should be obvious that of course its unfortunate for them. Everything about all everything sucks, for everyone. No family deserves to be seperated, no child deserves to be without a parent, nor should a parent ever experience the loss of their child. But context matters in some of these cases. You bring this up as if I'm some unfeeling monster and I don't sympathize. No one loving deserves being shot up in schools. The war in Gaza is unfortunate, it sucks for the IDF to battle Hamas while they use civilians as hostage and manipulation, all of it sucks. Blanket value separating families is terrible,

This has been posted here before and already discussed elsewhere at length but I think it bears repeating:

You either agree with this ideology or you don't, there's no middle ground. Either his death is one of the "some gun deaths" we just need to endure as a nation, or it was a tragic event that should never happen to anyone.

You can't say you value life and freedom while accepting preventable death as the "price" of liberty. That's not freedom, that's moral bankruptcy dressed up as patriotism. Every time someone like Charlie Kirk says this out loud, they're admitting the bloodshed isn't a flaw in their ideology, it's a feature.

If you can look at a child, a teacher, a grocery clerk, and say "that's worth it," then you've already chosen what kind of country you want to live in.

Well, to be fair we don't know if we wouldn't have considered his own death worth it by the function of it being his own death.

Charlie Kirk will only be remembered for having lived a horrible life, having died a horrible death, and having befriended horrible people.

This "he had a family" stuff is rich.
So do the countless children who have died in school shootings.
The children and parents murdered in Gaza had families.
The people ICE are disappearing, they have families.

Not to mention those who are being murdered in Charlie Kirk's name after his death.

Every vulnerable group and person that Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk have ever targeted or put on a list have all had families.
The primary difference being that their families actually loved them and cared about them.

If by that you mean the Right-Wing lunatic I used to be? Those days are gone.

But indeed, I lived in the panic and fear that fermented far right maniacs and monsters.
The constant drum beat of hate and division. The Othering, Division, egotistical inflation
over that which is literally skin deep. I very much remember living in the Cult.

No one comes out of that unchanged.

But unlike so many others, my breaking point was not the end of my sanity.
In a moment,that I can only describe as miraculous, when my fever had hit it's peak
I disconnected myself from everything online relating to any form of politics whatsoever.

For the first time in years I was able to think without a constant nagging fight or flight panic
dictating my every decision, action and inaction. I was able to make assessments based on
something other than fear, panic, anger and hate.

But, those feelings are so very hard to shake when you've become so accustomed to them.

I had to channel them somewhere, so what better place then back unto itself?

I will never forgive those who took advantage of me while I was young to try and forge me into
a tool of their bigotry.

After the war, even as recent as 2022, national socialists are still facing the consequences of their actions and are being sentenced in a court of law.

In a world where every event is documented, and there are cameras in every pocket. Every war crime, human rights violation, or act of horror will be recorded and remembered.
And when the dust settles "I was just following orders" will not be a valid excuse.
