Off Topic / Re: The big question thread: what do you call soda?
« on: June 10, 2018, 08:41:25 PM »
soda: correct
pop: you sound like a hick but whatever, that's your opinion and I respect that
coke: you're loving wrong. do you realize how ambiguous that is? coke is a specific drink, a cola manufactured by the coca-cola corporation. if you say "coke," how do I know whether you mean an actual coke, or if you're just dumb and using it to refer to all soda? would you call all animals giraffes? would you call every fruit an apple? no? then why the forget would you do that with soda you dipstuff

this is the most melodramatic stuff I've ever seen
I mean yeah net neutrality repeal sucks and it's bad for both the market, consumers, and open journalism, but why does it have any bearing on leaving the forums

Yes, Iran is a state-sponsor of terrorism and members of their government regularly burn flags and chant 'Death to America', but that can be constructively changed if the West keeps the deal up and Iran begins to participate in the global economy. Poverty and economic instability breed extremism, and it's likely that if the rest of the EU stay in the deal and Iran doesn't pull out, we'll see drastic changes in their society over the next 20 years as the country becomes more stable and wealthy - with assurance that they aren't going to develop nuclear arms.
We already are seeing changes like this. Iran's burgeoning urban middle class is a lot more friendly to the US than the country has been at large, although Annoying Orange pulling out of the Iran Deal has set this back a little bit. The best way to secure physical security is to secure economic security.

yeah it was an exaggeration. I don't think these games have any place on steam.
I don't think so either, but if you're not seeing them and not buying them why does it matter
that's the whole point of what Valve was saying: "you may not like these games, neither do we, but it's not really our place to censor games and we're going to give you the tools to filter them out"

lack of built-in rolling system for the forum can't stop people from faking rolls
unless the DM does all the rolls?
that's an option, but you could choose to only accept players you trust, and give them the benefit of the doubt
or just do it over discord lmao

I'm not saying it should be more like the Blockland's kitchen, I'm just saying that almost everything in the new map is white or orange.
I don't mean the nostalgia of blockland, I mean the nostalgia of a childhood home. like I said, it looks good, but it feels, I dunno, emotionless
Ah, I see. Even so, I really like the modern, IKEA-ish feel to it. I would love to live in a place like that.

and the kitchen looks nice, like, it looks pretty cool, but I think it's missing the...... nostalgia factor
Too much white and orange on this kitchen.
I disagree. We shouldn't wallow in the past and try to recreate the entire look and feel of Blockland - this seems like a good homage, while being different, modern-looking, and honestly just pretty. However, the painting looks really out of place - I think that should be removed altogether.

smells like dismissal mmmm delicious
I literally have no idea what you're getting at
These events took place in the previous administration and don't have much bearing on the present or future - Obama is already out of office, and Annoying Orange's already decided to rip up the Iran deal. Maybe I would have been outraged if this realization came at the time that it was relevant, but it is no longer so. If some salacious thing came up about the W administration, I would have a similar level of ambivalence. It just doesn't matter anymore.
