Nice triple post.

I haven't taken a look at the older books for a while, but currently the "Thief" role is played by the Rogue class. So I guess you're father could have been a rogue that was a thief....

As to Nick, the books can be bought pretty much anywhere you can buy books. Unfortunately all they really sell now are the new 4.0 books. I personally prefer 3.5 which is now available only through ebay, amazon, and specialty stores.

Neverwinter Nights is a videogame based off of DnD. I haven't played it myself, partly because you have to pay for it...
If you want to play a DnD mmo, try googling "DDO". It was okay but again I much prefer the actual game.
hmm kewl and ok that explains alot and also i already tried getting DDO but it stops at like 50%

Heroscape FTW.
i used to have a crap load of Hero Scape stuff :O

Too bad the game itself stunk. Haven't these people ever heard of "Playtesting"? At least they made decent pieces. =D

agreed

Dread ninja pirate. Totally possible build using the complete adventurer supplement.

I've been TRYING to get some people together for a good old-fashioned core-only 3.5 campaign.

My brother is happy to DM, I've played under him before once or twice and he's a good DM. However finding other people is proving to be bastardisingly hard... I potentially have two other people for an adventuring party of three. That's not a party, that's a circlejerk!

Ffffff I hate multiplayer games sometimes

Keep in mind the CR system is set up for a party of 4. (A CR 3 monster is a decent challenge for a party of 4 level 3's.) Anyways, my point is that you don't need a lot of people. In fact, having over 5 slows down gameplay a lot... My advice would be to keep on trying to get more and that if 3 is really the best you can do, just roll with it. If there's a class that you're team really needs (Say you don't have a cleric...) then perhaps the DM can make one and play it himself as an NPC accompanying the party.

-magic missile snip-
Heh. I use shield. (blocks magic missiles (And yes, in the actual spell description shield gives +4 to AC and deflects specifically magic missiles.))

Otto's irresistible dance for the win. *Poke*

Dungeons and Dragons with Dungeons that contain Dragons with Dragons in Dungeons that contain even more Dungeons.

I used to play this boardgame :D

I play it's PC friend Neverwinter Nights, well NWN2 actually. Pretty awesome.

Me and my friends were talking about playing, but we haven't put through anything yet. Probably over the summer.

I CAST MAGIC MISSILE AND ATTACK THE DARKNESS.

Waht.

I first thought it was a scam because it usually takes a lot of money to actually set up a game. But yes it is nerdy :P
