My faith in humanity has been restored.

Ever going to finish Birthday? Or are there still a lot of problems with Torque and such?

Eh, the cake in birthday looked bad from how I cut it :P
But if I did decide to remake it for my next birthday, I would just start from scratch.

Great!  Downtown was released.  I've had the beta for a while now.  Looks good.

yep guess its time to get rid of my beta version

The old version really is a whole different map. I might actually put up the old map still, as Empire City. I actually fixed most of the collision issues.

Downtown never really found itself to complete completion, and there is one collision glitch which is easy to find. The map is interesting in that it focuses more on scale than detail.

As far as myself, you will see that I added my server maps list. I am currently working as much as I can on a project to be launched this Christmas break, Block Wars. It's actually going to be pretty cool and I'm looking forward to it, come swing by my server over Thanksgiving break and I may have a beta up. The project topic is still to be posted. If you want more information on what it is, just ask ;)

What is it, and what is it delaying.

What is it, and what is it delaying.

Well, I already said that it's my Block Wars server. And, of course, it is delaying any public map ideas.

I shall now proceed to elaborate upon the topic of the server in general, although it will also soon have its own discussion and development thread. The server really is quite simple, a lot like many war servers currently hosted in Blockland, except for its point and weaponry system. A person's points are always saved at the server, and weapons are purchased with those points. Purchased weapons are also forever saved, and may also be upgraded to better equip the user.
As for the map portion, the map hosting it is slightly complex, accommodating four different "warzones" at once (a list of which will be released later). So, in a nutshell it is mainly a server in which you gain weapons and play different game-modes at different places, while maintaining your stats and unlocked weaponry.

I believe many of you have already been to the Nuketown map. The project itself is really not that "special" or anything... but that is what I am currently working on developing.

Downtown needs different lighting versions - and a smoggy/hazy one too.

Maybe... But if it was nighttime some of the interior would glow due to lighting errors.

^ 400th reply to this thread. :o

:D

I'm trying to find an urban type landscape and wow Downtown is brilliant thanks <3

Simple texture fading.  (As well as lit window edits)

Edits would be Evening(sunset-y), Night and Rush Hour(smoggy).  Also, The night version doesn't have to be as dark as you think it may because of light pollution in large cities.

It looks like a neat map though.  Keep up the good work!  ;D
