Are there any entry-level free options? That's a good way for people to try it out to see if they like your service. Is it just flat-out FTP space or will it have a fancy website like google drive has? Is there any sort of redundancy?

So technically we could store research in it?
It's all 1's and 0's, so anywhere you can store 1's and 0's, you can store research.

In layman's terms, yes. But I can near guarantee kalph won't let you.

I'll think of something, perhaps ~3000 free 1GB accounts or something. Shouldn't be hard to implement a free user quota. I'm not looking to have tons of free accounts (unless this grows so large but that can only be the far future), however I'm able to have some trials.

As you see I'm just handing out FTP accounts, however I will not charge until I get a proper web manager for files.

I don't care about research, but I do have laws to abide by such as child research...

You avoided the most important bit of his post.

I'm heading for redundancy, however I'm going to allow people to rate their most important files so that I can weed out what doesn't belong.

What backup solution have you picked?

Uh, transferring files to another server?

Haha wow, definitely sounds like you have it a thought through! Files are safe here kids, rush to sign up.

And the likelihood of the files on a remote server in a datacenter becoming lost is how much less than on your own computer at home?..

I have no comment.

Got about the same odds of losing them really, harddrives are unreliable where ever they are.
